Yeah but I got to take her afield and get her boots muddy!\ said:Very nice Jim, nice weathering.Si
Thanks Alan, never liked to clog them up with "over-weathering" ...............Jim\ said:That's a nice build Jim the very subtle weathering looks great
That's how I like to do them as well unfortunately I get to over enthusiastic lol\ said:Thanks Alan, never liked to clog them up with "over-weathering" ...............Jim
I know the feeling Alan, one of the things I try to do at the end is to add some brownish hues very lightly around just to break up the base color a bit, I'll pin wash some seams, around closed hatches hinges etc... for a little extra depth. I'll let you in on a little secret, take some of that dirty wash {I always keep a small tub of it on the ready} and with a semi-dry small brush just dopple it on the edges here and there\ said:That's how I like to do them as well unfortunately I get to over enthusiastic lol
Thanks for that Jim I'll give that a try\ said:I know the feeling Alan, one of the things I try to do at the end is to add some brownish hues very lightly around just to break up the base color a bit, I'll pin wash some seams, around closed hatches hinges etc... for a little extra depth. then with a mixture of silver, black and just a touch of brown {I use Testors enamels } and with a very dry brush {ladies eye shadow brushes work best} "two hairs and some air" as I like to say, just barely hint it around those edges, this gives a nice worn metal effect. takes a bit of practice but once you got it down you'll see the difference, this also gives a nice bit of metallic sheen on the edges {looks good in photos} hope this helps a bit.........Just don't start out-doing me now:D........Jim
Thank you Peter, I appreciate that............Jim\ said:Yeah....... You "Nailed" that Jim ........ First class job.
