Right back on with this, i really must break the que in the paint shop

slapped on some black Mr 1500 surfacer, thined 50/50, in too lacquer now so easy to work with apart from the smell




can see the scratches i should have sorted but will leave.

Biggest problem is the garage i have to hoover the bench every time, keep the door shut its too dark despite lights, keep it open to windy and dusty, cannot win , BUGGER

Next up, 2 thin coats of Tamiya lacquer dark yellow, thinned 50/50 and at 15 psi




Happy bunny so far, not sure if it needs another one or two layers

Difficult to tell from the photos Bob. Looks good from here. I personally like a bit of primer showing through here and there as it adds to the faded worn out look.

Thanks Steve, one more layer, been messing about with a lamp to see the effect on shadows. Going to leave in a single colour, and hope to keep that faded knackered look!

Well its back

One of my shelf queens. So another thin layer of dark yellow and i hope it gives a well worn faded paint look. Bit surprised that the paint feels rough??

Tamiya LP seems to be like MRP, needs to be sprayed at lower pressures and in several thin layers, on one StuG over 4 thin layers to finally cover the red primer!


Added Tamiya LP semi gloss varnish, then decals

Also started on the washes and the exhaust



Noticed two lifting hooks have escaped and vanished bugger!

Hi Bob, the ugly beast is looking good with paint, grainy finish can be down to spraying with the airbrush too far from the model, done that a few times too. Hope that helps.

Started on the part i like, weathering, a bit of dried mud

I had this issue on the T34. All the pigments looked to "fresh". It was a matter of weathering the pigments to make them look more realistic. This was done with oil washes and splatter marks. Coming along well

Bob, Weathering is coming along nicely. Like Steve I had a similar problem with pigments looking to fresh. I soften them as well with additional layers and some washers on my build. Keep up the great work
