is an enjoyable build,

happy how the tracks turned out, real like that look the tigers have with there tracks, ;)

and some times with the tracks ,if you just do them,as the time you spend, messing about

and b-----ing about them you would have them done, lol, :D

thank you Patrick for the idea and they still turn out well, ;)

Lovely looking jagdtiger Monica you've really done it proud, tell me did you have to upgrade the gun barrel ? ,Im sure I read somewhere that when they took the measurements of the tank to make the model moulds they based it on the one in the Aberdean Proving Grounds not realising that the gun was in full recoil makeing the barrels too short.

ta Kevin, much appreciated comments so glad your liking it,so far, ;)

that is one bit of info I,did not come across ,I do think that it is set to be in

recoil position, going by the gap around the barrel ,to where it dose slot in,

so what I did was move it out about 5mm to 8mm,giving it the more length,

ready to fire, and was just hopping I,did not do it wrong lol, :D

Early Jagdtiger kits did indeed get the barrel length wrong. The example at Aberdeen was abandoned by its crew & they had drained the recoil cylinders before discharging the gun, leaving it in a fully recoiled position.

Modern kits have rectified this error, so your one should be ok Monica.

What you want is about 2mm of the tapered section of the barrel within the mantlet. The one they have at Aberdeen shows nothing of the tapered section, just the barrel.

Just seen this one Monica, what a beast it's looking great! Plane cockpits at 1/48 test my patience some times it's the tracks that always put me off doing one of these which is a shame! Can you guys just stop telling me how fiddly they are! Lol

Enjoyable build and history lesson thread!
