That is looking great John. The vegetation already looks good
So nice to see your blackbird. It only takes a little patience and food to get wildlife to trust humans. When I was a child my mum had a blackbird who would actually come inside the back door for food.

That is looking good and getting the weathering on and toning down the glow from the paint will make it look even better. Hope you will get it ready for the Open Class at the Nationals.
Question - most of us with an eye patch have a parrot, what's with the blackbird..... :tongue-out3:

Hi John

Very sad to say I completely missed this given the lack of forum time this year.

It is coming on very nicely indeed. Great work as always.

Also pleased to hear that the bungalow is nearly sorted.

Morning John,

Good to read that life is returning to some normality and your back at the bench :smiling4:

Absolutely loving that ground work the mud looks very convincing as does the greenery :thumb2:
Many thanks Si

Yes Jim, they soon get to know people. He now comes into the top end of the cave and has his bowl . Build stalled this week due to the fine weather, garden duties called.:smiling2:

Managed to do the veneer sides earlier this week. This afternoon did get a bit done to the figures and made up a log holder , have no idea if theses were made but it looks right.

Veneer sides.

Made up some boxes , mainly to add to the rear, and some where for the figures to sit.

then applied some Karki to the straps .

The figures need some remedial attention to the paint work as they have been moved about that much.2022_6.jpg
Hopefully these will look the part once painted and glued on.

That's it for now.

Comments and
abuse welcome.

Hi Wibble, I hope so as it's taken long enough.
Re the Black Bird, well I had a parrot, unfortunately 570 @spanner570 took a disliking to it when it was with me on his sub thread. After wards the parrot made his way back to Aus. I still receive a Christmas Card from it .

Coming on nicely John. Figures almost there and looking the part. Veneer sides - I've seen that done by Night Shift. It's seems a great idea.

Thanks Jim.
Decided to try the veneer, as used by Night Shift. Easy to apply with double-sided tape. The thing to be aware of is the brittleness of the veneer , always sand away from the edge . Next will be the decision on the finish to it .
Those figures will need at least a day to do the final touch ups. Gets very tedious but important to get a clean look . This is where patience is a must. I tend to rush this part , then regret it later .
