I've probably said it before, but wet bank holidays were made for modelling. So, I've managed to finish my 1:72 Lysander.

It was built oob except the cockpit which I have tarted up a bit, but you can't see any of that in these pics. The decals are approx 30 something years old and really behaved themselves. The surface detail is good for such an old and cheap kit (49p when new)

I should point out, the first pic was taken late at night, somewhere in France ................

Brilliant job colin, especially liking the streaks on the aluminium under the wing. This is moving my 1/32 nearer the front of the queue!!! cheers tony

Now that takes me back, aged 7 or 8 Matchbox Lysander built from the box. Glue everywhere, all the colours of the rainbow and that's before it got painted. Hours of fun and loved the real aircraft too, still do.

Very nice build Colin and thanks for the nostalgia. Big five just for taking me back to being a kid.

Have fun, John

Yep, have to agree with the boys....Very nice Colin. I reckon everyone in the world built either this or a Spitfire when they were winkies...I did!

Good stuff.

Thanks for having a look gentlemen.

John and Ron, this model is indeed a blast from the past, The box art work really took me back to my youth, so much so I nearly kept the box ! - what a fool ! I'm now having a look around for some other 'from the past' Matchbox kits.

Tony, the streaks were good old pastels again, on a bed of Humrol metal cote matt aluminium producing a nice dirty effect. One day, I really must try a nice clean buid !

Regards

Colin M.........
