I hope it's okay to add a few former builds here to give you an idea of my modelling preferences

All these builds we completed with brush painted Humbrol enamels

My apologies for the poor quality photography most of these builds are from over ten years ago

I do like a silver RAF 'plane, even if they've only one wing and flaming out the back!

For brush jobs, you've got a great finish on all of them, especially the bright blue Canberra!

Oh yeah, and the 'Raspberry Ripple' Sukhoi is a a real beaut!

You weren't tempted to do the Angel Interceptor in RAF or World Air Force colors? I know I would

My favourite is the 0/400. I mean, it's a fully rigged big biplane!

Wait, was that Viggen LANDING on your house?

Wait, was that Viggen LANDING on your house?

I was tempted to build an Angel interceptor in Viggen style splinter camo, but ended up Swedifying an Airfix Lightning F3 instead, I had seen an RAF version done previously, I believe the art of 'Whatif?' should be quite unique in it's execution!

The O/400 took a while, I used fishing line, I pulled the whole rig a bit too tight as the wings had a slight sag drooping down at the tips!

The Viggen 'did' land in my house! on a shelf in the room where I practice what missus Miko affectionately calls our hobby 'stickin'!

As mentioned elsewhere in this forum, I enjoy building in themes

Can anyone spot the connection with these builds?

Seriously
Two Westland service aircraft, and two English Electric prototypes...
All designed by W E W 'Teddy' Petter

I award myself 10 points and acknowledge my research abilities (and a shelf full of Puttnams)

Is it me, tho', or does the Whirlind look all over grey?

Brilliant! I hadn't built my Folland Gnat prototype when I took the piccie which would have been more complete

WEW Petter, an awkward man to work with according to his biography, here seen in his days at Follands, note picture of single seat Gnat F1 behind him

. . . and yes, the Whirlwind prototype was indeed 'dark sea grey' never attempted a Lysander prototype

Apart from both being Airfix kits in 1/144 scale of vessels designed to operate in a hostile environment. .

What is the more obvious connection?
