doing this for a 'Pocket Money GB' somewhere else

the idea is that back when we were kids we always wanted those expensive kits but could only afford pocket money price ones

rules are, anything goes but the kit/after market stuff (but not paint cos you would already have had it) should come to a max of £10

got this in the MZ closing down sale

managed to get to the bench today so made some progress, going together very nicely, lots of parts in the box!! lol

thing is i really cant face doing the tri colour camo that USMC MUTTs came in, so been doing some research

this is, i believe, an early pic during trials of TOW...note the longer 'barrel'

Lebanonese Army

Isreali IDF.....all seem a bit beat up lol

and then i happened on a walkaround of a Portugese Army one.............first thought was the paint had faded cos its a strange shade of OG, but it seems a lot of Portugese Military vehicles are the same..................unless they all fade the same way lol lol

so i might go some shade of OG or OD, dont know if i shall weather it either, we shall see where it goes

She's coming along nicely, and you've some great photos for referencing.

As far as I'm aware, Olive Drab is one of the worst colours for colour variation and fading. I'm sure any "near" colour would do fine and it leaves plenty of scope for weathering too.

going to try and get this done asap, need to clear the bench

given it an oil wash in black and umber, i like to give oils at least a week to dry off but this had less than 24 hours before it got a coat of matt varnish

tyres look horrible but when i add some mud they should tone down

With the oil wash the colour looks much better ;)

Maybe you can try to paint a light colour wash on the wheels, like sand colour or similar. I do it many times and the wheels looks fine, then you can add mud or dust.
