Hi Alex,

I dont know whats wrong with me but i actually like how this is.

Cant you add some more base colour to the chipped area if you dont like it

It will all tone down with a cote of future?

A win in my book lol

It doesn't look that bad to me either Alex, maybe you could level it all out with some subtle washes made from the main colour?

Thanks guys, but it's already stripped to the bare plastic - almost.......... it took 2 days, including New Year's Eve! lol I'll be back with another version at some point :smiling3:

Happy to say that after a 3rd paint strip and repaint, I'm now happy with the paint colour and very minimal chipping. I have 3 coats of Klear on this baby, so she's now ready for her decals! :smiling3:

Forgot the ask, can you see the pre-shading? It's more apparent in real life

Hi chaps!

Right, here's where I'm am.... (think I've been watching to much Dragon's Den.....lol)

I'm very happy with the pre-shade as I've already mentioned once or five times. Probably my favourite part of this build so far in fact!

I'm really limited as to how much weathering I can do with a trainer aircraft. I might airbrush the control surfaces with a lighter shade to depict sun-bleached fabric. Apart from that this build will be pretty clean. I have so far only pin washed the wings so have the fuselage to contend with.

One SNAFU I made was to use up all my orange mix (I used Vallejo scarlet red and yellow) so now I'm having a tough time painting my canopy in the right shade. I'll get it near enough and be happy with it. :smiling3:

Hope you all like it so far. I have the float plane version so I know my way around this kit quite well now.

Looking very different.

As far as the canopy, being constantly cleaned all the time the frame would have a slightly different colour to the rest of the paint work, so a slight shade change would not be out of place there.

Thanks, Ole! :smiling3: They're not bullet holes; I think a couple of them are recess areas to help the crew climb in. Not sure what the others are..........
