Here is a simple and useful tip to remember, when that old tin of paint fails to dry properly and remains tacky.

Bold colours such as blue & black are prone to this problem with age, as they loose a vital ingrediant in the tin which affects the drying time.nip along to your local old fashioned type of hardware shop ( forget the large giants as they will not know what you are talking about !) and ask for a small bottle of Terebin, this is what they use in paint as the dryer and it is vital to making the paint dry tack free, place a tiny drop into the paint stir in,and hey presto, the paint will be restored to healthy condition once again. This liquid can only be used on synthetic paints such as enamels, cellulose finishes do not get this problem during storage.

Failing no hardware shop see any colourman or specialist paint supplier who will sell you a bottle.
