Hi guys,

This is my first post, I'm a newbie ;)

I'm 30 years old, live in Germany near cologne and started modelling military miniatures about one year ago...so here we go ;)

I will build this panther without Zimmerit since the structure of the surface is quite cool in this kit.

I already painted all wheels (vallejo model air 25 / RAL 7028 and black grey)

All wheels are movable after fixing ;)

That's it for today ...will continue tomorrow ;)

Greats

Benny

Welcome to the forum Benny!

This start look very good so far. The paint work on the wheels are fantastic.

You allows me to help with a trick. You has put graphite on the wheels, if you use a blurred pencil the effect will be more homogeneous and brilliant. It is a trick not a critique!

Cheers. Polux

Mmmmm....let's see, a 'pencil' that use to fade the draws of the normal pencil....

I try to look on the dictionary, but I don't found it, sorry!

My english is quite dangerous...

Welcome from me too Benny. Enjoy your time with us.

I think Polux is referring to the technique of using a soft pencil, 3B or 5B on the painted and finished model, and once the graphite is applied to the plastic, rub it with your fingers.

This leaves a nice metallic shine on the parts of the model where you want a bit of metal to show through, for instance...or just a nice gun metal shine.

Cheers,

Ron

Hi guys,

Thanks for your welcome messages ;)

It's a lot more life inside this international forum than in a German one.

I used a pencil 5B for that steel effects. But the picture I've taken is bad so the effect isn't visible as it should be ;)

Tomorrow I'll go on with the "German cat" ;)

Hi guys,

I'm going on with my panther ;)

This kit is the old one from Tamiya and a few details are missing ...

The cables are not really detailed as you can see:

So I took a cable from a leopard and the "kauschen" (don't know the English word) from a panzer iv and here we go:

You have to say that this kit is available for only 17 €uro.

Another panther ausf g is available from Tamiya for about 40 €uro.

I the newer kit the details are much better.

Even the muzzle break is crappy detailed. So I decided to put a self made cap on it like for transport ;)

I even started assembling the turret but now I have to go to work ...late shift ;)

Kameradschaftlicher Gruß (as the landser said)

Hi guys,

My photoeched parts just arrived;)

Some parts on the turret were replaced by wire.

The PE grills and side skirts will be applied tomorrow.

I agree nice n crisp work. It seems to have some good cast surface texture, which is a bonus.

Thanks ;)

Yes and because of this surface I won't apply Zimmerit.

So guys ...

I did a few things at the upper Hull ...

The holder for the spare tracks should be like this:

The spare tracks look crappy and the holder too. So I will apply a few tracks of the friulmodel metal track an did a few changes like this:

I also applied the grills.
