Revell 1/48 Huey ... Aggressor

On the bench at the mo... part made and resisting temptation to throw it at the wall :smiling3:

It's just as bad as the Monogram kit i made years ago, even with all the extra tricks and tips i've picked up along the way ... i'll even say that the plastic in the Revell kit is substandard to the Mono kit.

Shame they can't improve the old moulds really.

Will be giving it a different Camo job, as an aggressor in black/white (almost a what/if type)

Anyway it's like a big blob of glue and sanding marks at the mo...... have a laugh :smiling3: :smiling3: View attachment 46298View attachment 46299View attachment 46300

ps this threads also a test to see if things post correctly, i posted a ROK M5A1 dio days ago (my comp "glitched" when uploading pics) and can't find it in a search now, it never showed up in the 24hr search either ....but i can see it in my post list.

I got my main man Aaron to have a search and so far he hasn't found it..... puzzling ... maybe a re-install is in order if no-one sees this thread :smiling3:

Oh boy, I started building the same kit and re-boxed it a short time later due to all the problems it has. Nothing fit on this thing and almost all the raised detail will be sanded away

Might try it later again....

@ Ole, cheers for looking mate, trouble is i've tried to reply and it dont work.... the threads had loads of views but no replies so it either looks crap or the reply function of the thread is dodgy and they're not registering.

@ Theuns, i think i saw your comments on another forum concerning your go at it, i browsed the net for quite some time and most of the comments about this kit are bad, ranging from annoyance at the wrong version detailing to someone just wanting to use it as air-rifle target practice :smiling3:

I'm not gonna give up on this and i have some "happy pills" ready for when it gets to me : :smiling3: :smiling3:

I might have to nip over the bridge and pick some up mate ... :smiling3:

@ Mike .. thanks ... starting to rip my hair out a bit ... it is a Revell kit after all :smiling3: :smiling3:

Got the base coat on .... now to paint the camo, was going to try and use spray paint but i feel more comfortable using the hairy stick.

more piccies when it looks reasonably decent.

Yea there are allot of guys on the finescale modlers forum that say the kit is basically worthless and not even going to the trouble of building it because of all the hassles. I do think if one builds it knowing that and just have fun it could turn out nice.

C'mon Colin, don't let the SOAB grind you down.....It's only a bit of plastic and not some Creature from the Blue Lagoon.....Or is it?!!!

Ian, i'm beating it just, (pity it's not with a big stick)

Ron, it's like Frankensteins monster at the mo:smiling3:

Joe, thanks for the confidence boost:smiling3: needed!!!!

Trey, did you do the Revell or Monogram? i did it as a monogram years ago, just thought it was my inexperience that showed through, but now i have a different opinion.

Right then ... i got it built to an acceptable level for the quality of kit.

Then scrunching down to pick something up off the floor i went and leant on the damn thing when getting up and broke a few bits (i may have done this subconciously ... who knows ... who cares : :smiling3: :smiling3: :smiling3: )

Anyway i had to take a different direction soooooo.

We have a "what-if" camo patterned, Iroquois Aggressor thats having front end mechanical work done after suffering bird strike to the port side, it's in bits and the mechanics are on tea break .....

I post this with tongue in cheek and hope you have a chuckle coz it's rubbish :smiling3:

Colin I did the Monogram as well. I think thats a great save and musta been one helluva big bird! Great chuckle for sure and would'nt call it rubbish I quite like it,especially the cammo scheme! ! We hit a buzzard in a Jet Ranger and it was UGLY (and stinky) cleaning it up ! Bird feathers and innards were well spread out in the cabin.
