The trouble is Dave, the Sorpe Dam that 'F' attacked was a big ugly earth structure and not nice and ornate like the other dams. so if I do a dam it'll be one with towers and stonework I'd have a crack at....

...and then wait to be pulled up by some pedant that Ken Brown's 'F' didn't actually bomb the ornate Eder or Mohne Dams. ;)

Anyway, all that to one side, I've finished the model. No more build photos were taken, so here is the finished aircraft.

A well fitting kit with no dramas worth mentioning nor moaning to do. Just got the thing built.

All brush painted using those little tubs of Airfix 'Starter Kit' paints. For the weathering I used a wide headed brush and simply applied a brown wash along and up and down the whole model and let the paint run where it chose to go.......

I made the spinners from the plastic top of a food container.

In no particular order.

Nice and operationally scruffy.;)

Clear plastic spinners made from food container tops and suitably scribed and painted. After a few false starts these are the best I can come up with, but they'll do me......

Beautiful.

You still waitin' for those Airfix parts? You could always build that one as Gibson's aircraft - THEN you'd have no excuse for not building the Mohne!

Thanks for the positive comments chaps. All well appreciated. :thumb2:

Paul and Jim, the wife says thank you and she reminded me this chuck was a double handed effort......;)

Dave, unfortunately the Airfix kit is a bog standard Lancaster. The alterations needed for a Dambuster version are way beyond my skills.
Wriggled out of a corner very nicely me thinks.......Yet again!

Thanks again boys.

Talkin' about chuckin'; now your missus is back to her regular duty, 'oo's usin' that new sweepin' brush she got a few weeks ago? Don't tell me it's sat in a corner somewhere gatherin' dust - an' not in the way a sweepin' brush is supposed to gather it!
