Thanks Paul, yes and there's another at the lower front corner right below the door line. Gonna go with etched brass tread plate for those. :thumb2:

Hi, sorry for the long pause, have been pulled away from the bench to tend to "outside" chores and other "distractions". As you can see, the dreaded roof rack is now complete and glued in place and the crappy grill work on the side panels of the hood have been filled and sanded smooth, ready for the louvercals to be stuck on down the road. Still scratching my head on how I am going to protect the inside of this crate once all the inside walls etc. are painted white and detailed. I might have a try with a piece of foam,P1012713.JPG I have seen some on the forum use it pretty effectively.

Thanks Ernie, it's taking a long time for this one, primarily because it's resin and more importantly, I have had to scrounge through my parts and junk boxes for components that I need to do this build, as the kit is VERY basic and in some cases flat out wrong. I have another update coming soon as I have made more progress today......stay tuned. :thumb2:

Rick , please accept my grovelling apologies and a biscuit barrel full of chocolate hob nobs- ive totally missed this one till now . Just had a read through - unbelievably fine work mate , the level of detail and quality of scratching and improvement is off the chart . It looks a million miles different from the basic resin kit you started off with , fantastic micro surgery , keep it up , cheers tony

Really great work Rick, love all the extra detailing. You seem to be getting better and better while I have been in a slump
lately, "angry nerve" in my right calf has kept me partially debilitated and in a lot of pain.
Been over a month and after an MRI, cat scan and some sort of ultra sound vain test the specialist found nothing wrong!

So he prescribed some pain meds on top of the three pain meds I already have to take and said I should do physical therapy!
Luckily my wife was there or I would have done some "physical therapy" on his head.
Soooo.... he wished me luck and sent me off with a boot in the pants.........:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

So here I sit as furious as ever in my man cave, even the Missus is giving me a wide berth
She had my five year old grand daughter bring me my lunch (a bolony samitch) figuring I would not growl at her.
Poor little thing almost dropped it which gave me giggle.

I have been doing some modeling on and off, my "Children of the grave" dio will be out this week or so.

Sincerely,
Extra grumpy Grumpa.

Sorry to hear about the calf issues buddy. Don’t dismiss physio though. I’ve recently started it for my RA, and, to be honest, I think it has done me as much good as three years of meds. I’ve found Hydrotherapy in particular excellent for improving muscle and joint mobility. It hurts (a lot) when you start it, but the benefits soon outweigh the detriments. Secondly, are you on Statins? I am, and recently inadvertently ran out for a week. I found during the period they were unavailable that some of the muscle weakness and joint pain I had been experiencing went away. These contraindications came back quickly when I restarted the meds so I have contacted my GP questioning this and wonder if some of my recent issues that have been attributed to RA have actually been caused by the Statins…..could be the same in your case if you are on them.

Hi Tony, glad you dropped by. No apologies required Sir. I found your Zero build far more interesting than what I am dabbling with presently. This thing is morphing into more than I anticipated, due to the fact that there ae so many great ref. photos out there on the net. I'll just keep chugging along and eventually it will get to the paint stage. ;)

Hi Jim, been a long time. I'm sorry to hear of your situation and hope you get it sorted soon. We can't afford to be without your input for too long. You have always been a great contributor to the forum and you always come from a very unique perspective with your builds and dioramas......feel better soon and get back in the saddle. I'm glad you approve of my "tiny" efforts on this nerve wracking resin project. ;)

Thanks for the advice Tim, but I don't take a statin, while I am not against PT it's just that we live so far out in the boonies that it is over an hour and a half each way to the hosp.
They want me to come twice a week! fat chance that! But they say they will teach me some stretching exercises if I can manage to make it a couple of times.
Haven't much of a choice since doc says no surgery seems to be required.... UGH!!

My son was changing a hydraulic cylinder and dropped it on his foot, (big dummy) so he has been out of commission so I have to run the skidder for a few days while taking
pain meds....not good, but at least I had some vodka to wash them down with.

Thanks Rick, having a bit of a rough time with this latest ailment, what I really need is to be about thirty years younger.
I'll get through it somehow, after all, I've made it this far.
Things are hectic as always around here, it's a wonder I can get any modeling done at all...but that's nothing new.
Mood and mojo have taken a hit, can't seem to relax and just go with the flow if I feel every little thing isn't just so.
but I must start facing reality and realize I must let go a bit.

Mamma says the boys can handle everything and I know she's right but There is no way I will ever stop being a pain in their asses.

Jim.

Amazing stuff on the tiny ambulance insides. I have to agree that to even attempt it brings your sanity into question but to actually achieve what you have is sheer "black magic" :smiling:

Thanks Jim.......no magic here, forgot where I stashed me wand! ;) Just having lots of fun trying to do the model justice as it was rather plain OOB.

This will be the last update for a little while...duty calls, so when SWMBO chores are completed I'll get back to this. I have drilled out the headlight buckets for lenses and in the process managed to break off the stem, so had to replace it with .030" brass rod. License plates are located and I scratched a roof vent in the open position as shown in the photo I posted on pg. #71 in this thread. The louvercals are next along with the etched brass steps for roof rack access.P1012720.JPGP1012721.JPG
