I have started a canal dio set roughly around 1870 ish. It is made from polystyrene for the base and the canal wall with brickwork around the outside and real slate pieces on the top. The boat, 'Clarissa May' is a inshore steam crab/lobster, retired and dragged inshore. She is a real plank on wood model with a home made boiler and is a wreck, just left and forlorn awaiting scrapping at sometime. It is to be painted and weathered and grassed, going for a untidy look with grass growing on the brickwork and along the edges and around the slate. Made a drainage/runoff pipe and a small bollard. Then comes the tricky part, going to attempt to use clear silicone sealant as the water, lots to do so hopefully it should work.

Thanks Polux, this dio is based on an old picture I once saw. Lots to do, but it's getting there.
