Syrian SAA zu 23- 2 Technical- a sideproject....

While working on the BMP In Aleppo...Dio i was briefly considering substituting the BMP with a technical istead this had now been turned into a sideptoject.
Kits are meng's pickup and 4xSoviet AA Gun- set - I could at the time not get hold of the combi -kit.
I plan a small vignette with a few figs- maybe these two characters in front of the gun and perhaps a gunner in one of the seats of the zu 23 " groupe photo" like.

A bit of supplies / loot in the back - coke package will have to go more water instead I think

Think it's spot on, you see so many of these trucks with odd size carry all's . Modifying what you can get is a way of life there.
Boxes, nice are used looking.

In progress gear for the technical various cardboard boxes and water bottles as wel as some more eclectic stuff will be added I am thinking a carpet an maybe a mattress.

Bit of detailing on a can - grease stains and chipping plastc crates painted and washed

added some items to the stowage: spare tire, toolbox and a piece of chain, a rucksack will be added alongside a cardboard box

No longer a "sideproject"

Hello all
as described Here the BMP diorama has been split into two and this one will receive primarily attention until end of September as I will be entering it into two competitions.
After that it's back to the BMP and the larger building.

Removing the larger building required a new lay out and story:

A Zu - crew (affiliation left to the viewer) has been caught out in the open in the outskirts of Aleppo by sniper fire. which has claimed one casualty. One is "spraying and praying" in the general direction of the sniper trying to offer covering fire for mates (an RPG - team) crossing the very exposed street, to join him to take cover behind a walled garden..
Shortened the base, added new sidewalk and wall. behind the wall there's a once beautiful paved garden, now sad and neglected as the its owner has fled the area during the fighting
The smaller size of the technical allows for reentry of the mortar to the scene.
