I must admit being greedy ... while awaiting for my Tiran 5 paint job (base coat) to dry, I started a new build. Base kit is the old Trumpeter T-55. The rubber track was crappy, so I bought a Trumpeter individual track as replacement.

A bit of history ... the Syrian T-55 during that era comes in either single tone russian green, or the 3 colored (Green, Sand, Gray). The 3 colored tone is random, and it is different from one tank to another. As it is random, I just scribble away, and hopefully, I can translate it into actual painting.

Base Kit

The paint scheme....

Stay tune for more updates in the next couple of days ....

Here comes some progress pics ...

Well, the original camo on paper, when painted on the kit, it doesn't look good enough. Therefore, I have to make adjustments during the painting process.

You probably see some patches of white on the paint job, it was deliberate, to simulate paint fading. The camo lines are not blended in yet, over the weekend, I would probably "mist" the model with a heavily diluted brown. Hmmm ... spotted the main gun canvas cover is a bit too light, will correct it with a darker finish.

Next, I am going to use sponge method, to simulate paint chip.

Thank you people, for "tuning" in ... now we shall take a commercial break ...

Some updates.

1. Done paint chipping (using sponge method)

2. Wheel assembled

3. Engine cover mesh installed [ will "dirty" it later ]

Coated with Future, to prepare for weathering stage.

I can't find the driver's hatch, hopefully when I vacuum the floor this coming weekend, it can be found.

Thank you for watching .... cheers

Some updates ...

Did further weathering and streaking with different colors (green, dark brown, yellow and white). Not very visible, as the pics quality is not good. Taken with my Samsung phone. You probably see very light white streaks on the gray camo and green camo pattern. Shall I add more streaks to make it more visible? Or leave as it is?

Next, is to tackle the wheels and tracks.

Thank you for tuning in ...

Signing off for today ..

People ... Thank you for the feedback

Did some pastel weathering today, trying to simulate the tank being dusty, after travelling through the sandy terrain.

Pastel was also applied to the tracks. Too subtle .... I guess I will mist it with sand color using airbrush later.

Yet to apply paint chipping to the wheels yet.
