Fuselage is together and cockpit is in place..............

I spent this evening masking up the canopy. Took me ages to get it right. Did it ripped it all off and started again .......... But it's done and I'm fairly happy with it..............

....and now I have a dilemma. The Canopy seems like a pretty good fit it sort of "clips on" with two lugs. I'd quite like to have it removable but then masking the cockpit assembly is going to be difficult if not impossible...... There just isn't much in the way of surfaces to stick the tape on........ So I think I'll just have to stick the Canopy on and fill around the edges to get a good seal.......

Stick it in place with maskol or Klear both make it easy to ping off again. I use liquid masking mostly for this.

Just one thing while I have you. Can I ask that you stop editing the title of you thread. It upsets the search engine and the forum stats.

Not a good day........

Well it started ok. I now have the main bodywork on the Viper. So it's pretty much ready for it's first coat of primer......... I'll post up some photos when I'm not bleeding all over the place .........  YES I MANANGED TO SLICE MY FINGER OPEN ............ All that nonsense I was told when I did my apprenticeship about "Sharp tools don't cut you." is absolute "Pish" ........ Sharp scalpels cut you properly..........

I was making a start on putting the GBU-24's together and managed to stick two fingers together with Super Glue..... So, I decided the only way to get them apart was to gently (idiot) try to slice through the glue ........ and now I'm bleeding. So a Re-Think on that job.

.......... But I have managed to settle (in my head) my Camo for the Viper now.

Peter just catching up on this and its looking great! Sorry to hear you did a dice job on yourself,I know its a bit after the fact but I keep a bottle of c/a de-bonder on hand for such times as I glue my digits together, its a lot less painful! Looking forward to seeing the next update, cheers Trey

Thanks Trey ..........

Well, two stitches in the finger later .......... I'm struggling a bit. But I have managed to get the GBU24's together ......... I'made a couple of "Weapon's Rails for the under wing.......... a bit of filling and the Viper is ready for a coat of primer. Then I'll be able to see where the blemishes are.........

You plonker Rodney. lol

Things that can un-stick super-glued fingers. Some more effective than others.

Hot soapy water can given time do the job. A blunt object, such as the handle of a spoon, can be used to pry things like fingers and hands apart to help the hot soapy water get to it.

Vegetable oil is also said to work. Just not hot. ;)

Cellulose thinners has been know to do the trick but can irritate your skin.

Best advice, don't get it on your fingers. lol- Disposable latex gloves are a good way round that one.

Hope the finger gets better soon.

Thanks guys ........... I guess, given the clarity of hindsight, the blunt object thing would have been a better idea.
