First time for a while Andrew. Last one was an unfinished whirlwind about five years ago I think. This might push me into finishing that as well…..

That would be very good to see. Always liked that for some reason. Shame they never fixed the problems.

Agreed Andrew. If they had been allowed to design it with Merlins, and got it to squadron status before the Battle of Britain, the German bomber streams would have been torn to shreds…..

Nice one Tim
Cheers Lee

Looks good Tim :thumb2:

I think Spitfire’s look more aggressive with clipped wings.

Geoff.
Cheers Geoff, it does change the appearance, making it a bit of a bruiser. My favourite is still the MkI though, possibly the best looking piece of engineering of all time.

I agree the MkI and the other full elliptical wing versions has to be the Pinnacle of design. The Clipped wing worked as well, both aesthetically and aerodynamically.
Was never a fan of the pointy wing ones though.

I think I have built this kit in the past. It builds well.
Enjoy

Cheers Ian. I know where to go if I get problems then ;)

Well, I’ve made a little progress, so here are the pictures…..

first up, controls…

Don’t panic about the IP, all will become clear…….

Next, seat and bulkheads…..
B6E2D32C-BAFF-480B-9E47-A8A908ED1566.jpeg
Not the greatest shot, but I’ve drilled out the lightening holes and opened up the slot for the seatbelts….

and….a bit of set dressing….the Eduard IP.

For little effort I think these really add to the office. It is a three layer piece, and fits well on the Airfix IP. Nice refinement they’ve added since the last time I used one is the glass effect over the instruments, don’t think it’s visible on the photo though. It’s not that grainy either, I’ve cropped this shot quite a bit……

Anyway, on to clipping out the unwanted bits and dressing up the side walls of the fuselage before paint.

cheers all
