Hi guys, finished my RC 1/16 Challenger 2.

Total strip down, with steel gearboxes, sprockets with trap anti-slip inducers, metal idlers and tracks.

Rewire to make the rear lights as brake lights.

Total repaint in Nato green with a slight weathering, decals and stencils used.

Scratch made drivers port, scratch made rear anti-bump probe, made new aerial mounts, new MG swivel made, covers made for barrels, coaxial chain gun has a new mounting, bit of work to finish that off when I find something suitable. rear lights painted in Tamiya clear, Dichrome film used to simulate the anti-glare and anti-lazer coatings on the vision blocks. Warning flashing amber light on turret works from the transmitter, disabled the smoke unit-never bother with them as the are drain on the battery, burn out and coat your tank innards in smoke oil so, that switch no operates that.

Had her out for a test run today and all seems okay.

There will be a flash unit fitted into the barrel when I get around it.

Nice one Si, she certainly looks ready to take on a few T-72's, any footage of her test run ? how big is she in comparison to say a tamiya paint pot ?

No footage but here is a piccie of her on the workbench, she is a big girl.

I found this Chris: 730x230x195mm so, 28 inches long, 9 inches wide, 7.5 inches high. She is the biggest model in the range.

Now that's a model.

Is this a "kit" you put together or does come ready assembled?

Hi Andrew, pleased you like it. You buy the RC version, mine is £280 but, I managed to get mine from a bloke up the road from me for £110. You then, as a modeller (used in the loosest terms in my case), get reference pics etc and try and replicate parts etc that are missing. They always get a strip down and a full repaint.

Just to add, I got this tank at a bargain price. I spotted it on Facebook marketplace, it was located about 20 mins away from me. What put off some people was the fact he refused to post-fine with me. He had it up at £120, yes, £120! I was very, very cheeky and offered £100 and he said if I could pick it up then I could have it for £110...phone down, in the car and had it my grubby little mitts within 30 mins. It came with the original box, all paperwork etc, I just could not pass it up for the price, the model I have sells for £280, the only one up from it has metal road wheels and to be honest, they can be a pain, that model sells for around £100 more.

Another £70 spent on the replacement anti-slip sprockets, paint etc and she still comes out cheaper than the standard version with plastic tracks etc.
