1/48 Spitfire Mk.Vb trop.

Hi All.


I've had some time away from the bench and most things model related. As always, I find the best thing to reignite my love for this hobby is to build a Spitfire.


The kit is Airfix's newish tool Vb. Built nearly oob, although an Eduard harness was added after I took these pics.


The decals are aftermarket from a company called AMC. Really thin, quite fragile but laid down a treat. They look almost painted on.

This is how she sits as of this evening. Bit more work to do on the wing root chipping and I shall probably add some oils and pigments.


Anyway, t'is nice to be back.

Wow! And what a return....looks very well done so far. Personally I love the paintwork on the cockpit.

Started the weathering with oils. Toning down the decals and adding some shadows and general filth.

I'm trying to be careful not to over do it but I am enjoying the process.
