Cheers Ian. I got the resin seat (no seatbelts) due to the kit one being ugly. Plus i much prefer to use etch/paper seatbelts as i think they add more realism and look far better.
Just to highlight the difference between the awful kit part and the Barracuda resin seat (seatbelts not fitted but can be bought with them moulded on). Totally night and day in my opinion and well worth the money.
Well i've got some catching up to do on this GB so i thought i'd make a start.
As usual it's starting with the cockpit. I bought some Eduard PE for the instruments so that will make it 'pop' a little more (if you can actually see anything when buttoned up). I also wanted to add some more wiring to it. So i'm using thin copper/tin wire for the cables. Hopefully it'll pop a little when painted yellow.
Hi Alan
Looks a nice kit especially with your extras to further enhance it. Resin seats are good. I must get round to having a go at one of these large scale planes. There have been a few built on here recently.
Jim
It is a lovely looking kit and it looks like it'll build into a good kit. There are a few little things wrong with it from a rivet counter aspect but if you are only going to go OOB then it will suffice. The only major thing as i mentioned above is the horrible (imho) seatbelts. But that is down to a personal viewpoint.
My last efforts for tonight. Probably won't be seen once fitted but i made a chain for the trim wheels as they are missing from the kit. Two small wires twisted together. Looks sort of convincing. Also painted the cockpit fuel flow pipework. Always love this pipe as it adds a little colour to a dark cockpit.
