Second layer of planking finished and portholes drilled out IMG_20210914_152026.jpgIMG_20210914_152021.jpg
Now this is where I go against the instructions as it says to add pieces of wood see pictures IMG_20210914_150740.jpgIMG_20210914_150735.jpg
Now I have found out that doing the recommended way that the next piece of ship sits proud of where it should be IMG_20210914_150934.jpg
By removing all the pieces it now sits flush IMG_20210914_151958.jpg

I now have a set of photo etched parts as it gives me the side profiles for b deck and the bow and stern.
Because the problem with the original build that the portholes are drilled it and it comes in three pieces. IMG_20210923_140511.jpg
And the photo etched only has one join and has riveting details and looks a whole lot better. IMG_20210923_140502.jpgIMG_20210923_140457.jpgIMG_20210923_140454.jpg

That does look so much better, not to mention a whole lot quicker than doing each one individually.

Keep up the great work.

I have completed the promonade de walls and sanded and varnished the boat deckIMG_20210926_131816.jpgIMG_20210926_131813.jpg
And I started to think ahead as I have two roof sections that are comprised of two pieces each that need to be glued and weighted if not they won't glue properly. IMG_20210926_134231.jpg

Started on the boat deck superstructure and I have found out that it's easier to cut the card walls rather than folding them. IMG_20210927_130537.jpgIMG_20210927_130520.jpg
And I have varnished all the large roof pieces.
And test fitted two. IMG_20210927_130612.jpgIMG_20210927_130657.jpg

All the main boat deck structures are complete IMG_20210929_145253.jpgIMG_20210929_145551.jpg
And I have substituted doing this for making the gratings over the domes. IMG_20210929_145647.jpg
For the photo etched onesIMG_20210929_145601.jpgIMG_20210929_145558.jpg

I am now half way through the build as I have reached magazine number 50 with the start of the funnels and I will be only showing one as the rest are identical in construction.
Here are all the parts. IMG_20210930_143758.jpg
And I have fitted the vents and finished the second class lift entrance. IMG_20210930_141428.jpgIMG_20210930_141432.jpgIMG_20210930_141449.jpg
