I have to say that this model looks like it has a lot of parts for a fuselage with such smooth lines. I'm sure this is going to make into a very interesting model and look superb. I used to like watching the wheels retract and it become a much more sleek shape, sad I know but we were all a lot younger then.

Right, this one's been a "heated discussion" in the boozer a few times........ Who would win in a fight? Knight Rider, Street Hawk or Airwolf? I have a theory..........
None of them, i'm sure Automan would win just for the glow in the dark car, no idea what JAFO was.

Aaaah, but.........Unfortunately, I have to agree that Streethawk would get battered. But how is Airwolf beating KITT with its bulletproof armour? My theory is that Airwolf shoots KITT, has no effect, KITT finds a slight incline, turbo boosts up it and smashes into Airwolf. Some people have told me that I've put too much thought into this.................
Now you have a definite point in that KITT is as indestrucable as indestructable gets but the Hoff could be easily dealt with by a carefully placed 80's fashion boutique and home perm kit at the battle zone thereby luring him out of the car.

The number of times i'd wished I could ahve a vehicle with unpuncturable tyres, and a shell that cannot be marked ever by anything, the most likely thing I guess would be having a swishy swishy light on the front, (oh how I used to laugh at all the escorts / fiestas etc with those on way back when)

JAFO, (painted on (Daniel Stern's) the navigator / computer operators helmet), stood for Just Another F****** Observer.

This was also referenced in the slightly iffy tv series spin off as Just Another Frustrated Observer.

Oh my word, how sad am I!

I loved Blue Thunder, (the movie and the Helicopter), and remember a fella who used to work on Gazelles really ranting his head off about the unlikely nature of a heavily armed and armoured Gazelle doing the things that this one did, I don't think he got the point of 'suspension of disbelief'

Ok back at this now.

Primed in grey and the bottom half sprayed white then masked off ready for the black top coat. From what i can read online airwolf is actually a greeny grey black, but mine is black.

Black top coat, exhaust sprayed citadel chainmail, and blades sprayed black underneath, white on top and given yellow tips. Oh and i built the stand too.

Just a few more things to do, paint the guns attched the rocket tubes underneath and a few othe rbits need sorting then its a coat of satin varnish.

The upper surface is a colour called Phantom Grey, which is a very very dark grey almost black, there doesn't look much in it but next to black you can see the difference.

Looking really good so far, looks much nicer and more accurate than the KItech one I have in the stash. Think i'll have to keep an eye on eBay for one of these :smiling3:

Are you going to do JMV's scale Cello for the co-pilots seat?
