Really pleased with the figures this time, finished them off with a Vallejo wash as Tim had advised me to use.

Had the standard version turn up to day from Portugal , plastic on a first look does seem a little soft, but the detail is crisp
Might get those as well I think if the first goes well .

Simon , yes very strict. From what I can gather most Russians seemed to have all their hair cut extreamly short .here is photo of Vsevolod having his done. Note the hight of the cut .

The officer on the front has his foot tucked underneath, nothing missing there ?
Yes I need to do a flat acrylic spray to the whole model now, should the oil be dry enough in a couple of days ?

On the search for a suitable frame now my supply of 18 mm play is rapidly disappearing. Do I have to remove the glass, I've seen one or two with it left in. Going to put some 5 mm Kapaline foam board in the base. Was hoping to have if flush with the frame. More research I think , but any advice would be appreciated .

Evening from Race Towers, been busy today with a visit to the wilds of Whittlesey on the outskirts of Peterborough. Quite frankly it was like another world, old buildings,,,,, corrugated iron curved sheds, and loads of horses. Had to find a shot blasting and powder coating businesses.


Once back in the land of normality I set too doing the backing to the street scene, yesterday I had cut out the building facade and glued the front stone work to the foam.





Sheet metal and weights holding the timber in place.






The street had been cobbled and the foam had been cut and glued into the frame.






Since this photo above more washes have been applied to the sets.







The front of the foam has been coated in Drywall compound which I have had under the bench for about 12 months
Only put on in a very thin coat, sanding will commence soon and then some colour introduced along with the stone ( timber ) being painted. Far easier to do thin coast than one thick one, more liable to crack when drying and takes longer in the end.

Again more weights applied to help stop the curving of the board.
