Hi guys, finally got a complete 1/200 Yamato, did a little bit last night and omg straight into the PE and I have to admit the rails are quite testing and very fragile, the only saving grace is most can't be seen :smiling3:

I'll bet you're relieved to finally get going on this. You are certainly going to need a very big bench for this

HI Brian very pleased to see you have the full kit an now started pity you wont make her R/C as ive seen one up our pond sailing an looked very good on the water but could not take pics of her as i dint charge up my camera batt an i had a freind called mick from exssex an he had a cracker model of yomato in 1/96 scale an it was about 10 ft long an he had all guns turning an guns firein sound units in her but oh she was heavy to lift took three people to lift her in an out of the water an i videod her when she was on our pond what a monster she was as she had a car battery in her for power but ive lost contact with him as he moved house so dont know now where he is or the ship what a pity

Ok I'm stuck in the house due to my gammy left leg I fell off a dry dock in Gibraltar in 83 and smashed it pretty bad had 9 ops on it but still get a lot of pain anyway the Yamato will take my mind off things ......Things so far :smiling3:

It's an impressive model even at this early stage, but I see a good set of CA bottles in the background to tame those PE parts.
I'll follow your progresses with great interest.

Well that's me for the day I need to do a little paint before I put the rear deck on also let the PE dry fully under the magnets I used white glue as the PE was a bit concave.

It looks like drilling from the back has lifted the deck but it hasn't just needs cleaning up.
