I have started the base Im looking to create the reached sub scene after the Pearl harbour attack. so by routing the rough shape of the sub in plywood allowing the stern to be lower i can have a slight slope to the beach then i covered it with filler. then put wet cling film on and pushed the sub in to create a bed for it then used a stick to make runs where the receding water flows after each wave, well that's the effect Im after we'll see when it dries and covered in sand .
Fingers crossed. I have put the sand on when that's gone dry I will do the water which I think will make or break it but it's another new technique to try .
Here's this mornings progress the sub in position the gaps backfilled with sand then a wet pva mix syringed on i left the top dry to give the appearance of wet sand when i add the water which Im really not looking forward to .
Well i had a bash at this today i used EZ water by woodland scenics which is melted in a pan and poured on. my main concern was melting the sub but time to experiment. i poured it in and yes the rudder melted but nothing that can't be hidden and i used a hair dryer on cool to blow some ripples as it solidified which happened in about a minute. I'll add some waves when it cools.
