This Thursday will mark the 77th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. This has always been my Highlight of the Wold War II. I thought I would build some 1/72 Military Models of different subjects from this year between December 16 through January 25 2022. I might even do a diorama if I get the nerve too.
This particular Sherman is a Italeri Fast built kit and very detailed for what it is. This is my second Tank I’ve painted in winter camo I’m not the best at it but I really enjoy it. I started with a darker Olive Drab than my usual go to one I was afraid with the White Wash the lighter OD would bleed through and become more of a Pea Green. All the White Wash was Handpainted by me. I’m happy the way it turned out. I’ll also be adding some Stowage and small details to it. This is as far as I got tonight.

Hi Lee
The Battle of the Bulge, i enjoyed the film of the same name. Possibly not accurate but enjoyable.
Looks good so far. Nice detail for a small scale, simple kit.

John I’m glad you like it. You and Mr Jones years ago gave me the confidence to try Winter Camo. Thanks for the complement

Great tribute to this iconic part of WWII. Off to a great start Lee. Looking forward to seeing how this project turns out.
Thanks Steve. It’s my favorite part of the War although we suffered many casualties. I’m waiting for some paint now to finish this up.

Jim thanks for the complement. I’ve never seen the movie I’m not a big fan of War Movies I like to watch real documentary instead. So far no problems with this small guy but I’ll be adding more details soon

Before calling it a night I Weather it and Applied the decals. After the Winter Camo was dry I removed spots where the decals were going I was a bit nervous doing this then I touched up the area with more Camo and Weathering. I also Weathered the Track Assembly now waiting for paint to get here. I guess I’ll start adding the small details till the Mail Man brings the paint.

I like the winter camouflage, it looks convincingly as it would have been on a real tank.

Battle of the Bulge - 70 odd years?- my missus is seriously unhappy with you mate! Says it's only been since she met me! (Seriously, no disrespect intended - please forgive me if that's the case)
