Ever been faced when your new model lands and half of the cowl screws have worked loose ? well next time use this system and you will never loose another cowling in flight, procure some of that fluted inner Sullivan snake material, you will probably have offcuts in your bits box anyway ? cut off several pieces about three eighths of an inch long ( sorry I am pre metric ) and carefully take the mandrel of a rivet and heat the tip after cutting off most of the excess material, plunge this into the pieces of plastic so they have a bell end, next push holes into the fuselage where they retainers will fit and glue into place with a touch of medium cyno.

The bell end stops the pieces from pushing into the fuselage when the screws are inserted, the screws bite solid.

Remember the old trick in plastic, when re-installing the screws back off to the left half a tun to pick up the original hole ( old coachbuilders trick passed down to me ) this applies to anything where a self tapping screw is used.
