This figure has sat in my cupboard for a couple of years now and I keep meaning to drag it out and start. Now is an ideal time between GB’s as my desk is clear, apart for some Perry 28mm acw Union Cavalry. McFarlane do produce fully painted versions but I wanted to do my own. I obtained some 3D markings for the shoulder pads and have now partially stripped it down to start the undercoating. Be interesting to see how this goes as the material it’s made from has a hard rubber feel to it. I included a 28mm figure for comparison so here goes.

Well, he's a big boy. :tears-of-joy:

Will follow along Mick, look an interesting subject. Reminds mo of the power armour from the Fallout series.

Not a genre which I would go for but these type of models do make interesting subjects. They can be effectively weathered to hell ;) I'll follow along.

Welcome along Bob and yes there’s a definite resemblance, probably not as clunky as the Fallout one

Certainly agree Jim, I’m only used to painting the gaming figures, definitely nowhere to hide in this scale

Oh wow, I've never seen one that size before! I can imagine a whole different set of challenges compared to the usual sized 'marines.

Interesting choice Mick. Not sure, but the casting material sounds similar to the resin used for reaper bones material. If it is, don’t prime with anything but water based primer. Apparently if you do the primer doesn’t dry properly. This is documented all over the gaming sites……

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this Mick, I bought my brother-In-law the same figure as he fancied doing a re-paint with one...

I’m looking forward to seeing this too
After a heads up about primers the gun is currently sitting in a coat of GW black

The big lad is now in undercoat. This material is horrible to work on removing the mould lines, but eventually sorted.
He’s sharing the mat with a regiment Perry acw Union Cavalry.
