Wing is now fitted , bit of a struggle but i got there in the end. The two small struts were added after tensioning the bracing wire , then it was time to think about the undercarriage. The triangular legs are attached by two small lugs to the fuselage and then a shock absorbing strut going up to the main wing strut. Looks flimsy but once its all glued its quite sturdy . The shock absorbing strut should have a flexible leather gaiter over the piston ( similar to those on Junkers ju88s ) but the kit just has a plain rod . To simulate this I wound some fuse wire (15 amp) round a bit of brass rod then slid it off and cut it to size . Once coated with canopy glue and painted it looks fine .
Ive added wingtip nav lights from shaped rod , these will be painted up tomorrow.
So sorry that I just saw this build of yours. I did a good read through and.......WOW!!! The guys have already used all the good words and comments on the build. It is amazing all the details and scratchy you've put into this tiny loopin' wing thingy. Figs and rigging are great as is the whole build Sir!!! I hope you and yours had a Happy New Year and keep up the good work...
Got this over the line yesterday , all the last little bits added. The wheels are on , the winglet aerofoil things have been added and the gunner now has a machine gun. Its a surprisingly big aircraft with a thick , chunky wing , see the comparison shot next to the Yak 9T . Ive enjoyed doing this , an aircraft I wasn't overly familiar with before , thanks to all who've been watching , heres a few pics to finish this thread and more to come on a completed thread , cheers tony
