They were transported by U.S. escort carriers, then flew off to their required airfield destinations. However, they could not land back on a carrier......

I've just found a 1/72 B-25 Bomber in a box in the loft, so I could well be in. I write "Could well be" because the markings are probably incorrect for the Far East theatre. I'll have to check. If they are wrong, I'll have to re- think.

Maybe I should of more correctly say "fight off carriers", apart from the 4 that flew CAP as detailed above. And as I would certainly allow the Doolittle raiders I feel I would have to include those 4.........

This might just be me but I am thinking that this is going to be 99.9% aircraft builds in this GB. Maybe a more apt title could be the Aircraft of the Pacific War. I think it might open it up more than it would close it in...

Don't suggest that Ian. I have a cunning plan.......

EDIT
'Cunning plan' bought.

Karl, providing the G.B. title doesn't change to 'Aircraft of the Pacific War' I'm in.....

Cheers.

I’m with Ron I think you should leave it alone you may discourage Karl altogether by messing with his GB suggestion and he may drop the whole thing. I think it’s fine the way it is. Besides the Aircraft that was in the Pacific Theater were on a Carrier at one time or another.

Eh … are you sure? For “Aircraft in the Pacific” I could build, say, the Revell (ex-Matchbox) PB4Y-2 Privateer I have in my stash, or a Hawker Hurricane with Dutch flags on it. Not sure those would fit the “Pacific Carrier War” theme :smiling3:

Pacific Carrier War is the G.B. title.
'...any carrier or carrier based aircraft involved in the war in the Pacific.......'

If this G.B. is a goer, here is my proposed contribution.

Look, no wings!

I was looking at Trumpeters 1/700 offering of this, then the 1/200 one.....now I don't 'have' to buy it.....

I'm on the phone at the moment but once I get to the laptop I'll do a new list of runners and riders.

I bet the whole thing was sphincter testing.
"Take off from this moving, too short airfield, fly in a straight line with no deviations, one bombing pass, then land on fumes."
