Much that I hate the stuff,Fibreglass liquid is still the best thing to fully fuel proof your engine bay or fuel tank area,mix up enough to really soak into the wood around the nose area which usually needs extra weight anyway,it will run into all of the joints which also strengthens them as well.

Wash stiff brushes in cellulose thinners before it cures to clean them out,and dont do this job indoors,go outside on a sunny day.
