The cowling when in place supports the very heavy engine assembly,as the cowl is only glued into place it takes a lot of the load of the said engine via the bush supplied,I have devised a small modification for peace of mind,this entails drilling three small holes into the cowl where it touches the bulkhead,one at the top and one either side at the lower end of the cowl,push three dressmaking pins into the ply firewall and this locks the whole assembly,with no fear of breaking away which it could do damaging that lovely scale engine.
