A belated "Hi Chaps" from me to the GB.As my Dr.1 is completed now,I can make a start on my entry :thumb2:,
Thanks go to Pete for organising this:hugging-face:.Without further ado,'ere be pics...

I don't think I've done a HobbyBoss kit before, and at first glance it looks quite nice......
IMG_20240407_132956.jpg
I've bought the camo mask set from TopNotch to go with it,you get four choices of schemes, I'm plumping for the "LEA"one, purely because I like the Skelly decal....ME, SHALLOW? How very dare you!!:astonished:
IMG_20240407_132731.jpg
Destructions look nice and clear. The cockpit canopy is in the little white styrene bag,the control panel is also a clear part, you get some etch seat belts, vinyl tyres,(a first for me in a plane kit),and there's a cockpit mask set on the reverse of the etch bag.Pretty good value kit IMHO :thumb2:
So,onto the bits....
IMG20240407125200.jpg
Good details on the wings....
IMG20240407125352.jpg
... And the fuselage....
IMG20240407125411.jpg
...tother bits.....
IMG20240407125627.jpg
.... and that's it,just the 4 sprues,so it should be a simple enough, straight forward build:nerd:.
Will be making a start this afternoon,so anyone who'd like to tag along will be more than welcome, cheers for now......

Thanks Pete,it really is,as you'll see in my,(sporadic!!),updates ;)

Nice choice, I’ll follow along too as I’m interested to see how it goes together :thumb2:

Geoff.
Cheers Geoff, already I'm thinking that this is probably one of the best kits I've ever put together :thumb2:
Oh this will be interesting to watch! I wish you the best with it!
"Interesting to watch"... that's an understatement Steve!! :tears-of-joy: ... But I have done some more... ;) ...

... Cont'd....
So then, I'm sorry to say that, even though I have been chipping away at this build over the last few weeks,it was so bitty that I didn't deem it fit for pics. However, here are a few to show said developments...

IMG20240417191931.jpg
... Sorry they're crap pics, but you get the idea ;) ... Next stuff I did...
IMG20240419205220.jpg
IMG20240419211335.jpg
Put the Pilot in and shoved the fuselage together, seams need sorting,as does the pilot's painting ;)
Then....
IMG20240419211911.jpg
Tentative start on the wheel wells there, and then,(I just couldn't help myself here!!)....
IMG20240420150420.jpg
WINGS ON!! Just finishing off the Pilot's face now, then I'll be putting on the Cockpit glass and... Priming :thumb2:
I'll try and get better updates from here on in!!
Thanks for looking in, until next time....

That looks like a comprehensive kit Andy. Very nice. At least your fits together as it should, mine is turning into a bit of a mare.

Missed the start Andy - sorry. Looks a nice kit and having seat belts, masks and a protected clear part shows thought. You're off to a nice start. Pilot looks to fit nicely.

Cheers Steve, yes,I have to say that this is possibly the best fitting kit I've ever done! ;)
Looking good Andy.
Thanks Andrew, nice to see you :smiling3:

Cheers Jim,the kit in general is very well presented and manufactured imho, the pilot, whilst being an after market 3D printed example, does indeed fit perfectly :thumb2:

So then, I've not done as much as I'd hoped, but ere be some progress...
IMG20240420214812.jpg
Kit supplied masks on there, generally very nice, but I ripped both of the tiny front ones,as you can see,so had to use some liquid mask!
IMG20240421002433.jpg
Then it was spray on the "Sky"for the majority of the underside, followed by masking up for the Black partition,(which took piggin ages!!)...
IMG20240421161212.jpg
... Then everything removed and given a shot of gloss varnish for both, protection and preparation for later washes, which revealed....
IMG20240421204904.jpg
... quite happy with it so far, progress will slow up a bit now due to work, but hopefully I will get some stuff done over the next few days :smiling3:
As ever, thanks for looking in :thumb2:
