So do the T-55, T-62, T-64, T-80 and probably othersNot disagreeing with you Jakko but the T72B has an IR light on the right side of the turret and 1 can be fitted to the commanders cupola.

The big, flat, square box on the roof of the turret is a notable feature of early models of T-80. Compare to this photo of a T-72:
