Very convincing Tim. Those Cables really set that tank off.
I must admit that compared to the rest of the tank they seem overly complex and fragile John. Not like the usual utilitarian Russian stuff at all. No need for the screw tensioner, a simple storage hook would have done the same job.I've never heard mention of doing that before, definitely one to remember Tim .
Cheers Lee. It needed something to add interest to a simple green box on tracksVery convincing Tim. Those Cables really set that tank off.
Or even an eye?I must admit that compared to the rest of the tank they seem overly complex and fragile John. Not like the usual utilitarian Russian stuff at all. No need for the screw tensioner, a simple storage hook would have done the same job.
There is already an eye on the cable though? Perhaps a shackle arrangement like the towing points would have been better? Anyway, the screw tensioner is not a great solution to my mind….Or even an eye?
Sorry, meant shackle - put it down to zero coffee so far this morningThere is already an eye on the cable though? Perhaps a shackle arrangement like the towing points would have been better? Anyway, the screw tensioner is not a great solution to my mind….
Cheers Andrew, it’s just a simple solution to a simple problem that I thought might be of interest…Tim,
That's turned out very nicely despite the paint problems and the tow cake idea was genius!!!
As John says, will have to remember that!

Glad that we see “eye to eye” over it Gerry….sorry, couldn’t resistSorry, meant shackle - put it down to zero coffee so far this morning
Cheers Jim. Really glad you like itHi Tim
That idea for fixing the cable is good. Much more robust and still looks as it should.
That is a cracking build. You've done a great job varying the paint tones. Adds interest.
Jim
Cheers Jack. Really simple to do. Spray the dark dark from below horizontal, making sure to hit all the undersides. Spray the actual body colour from about 45 degrees above horizontal, so it leaves shading, and finish by dry brushing with a lighter colour to bring out detail and texture.I love the finish on this one Tim. Great contrast on the modulation.
Cheers Allen. Glad you like it. The recipe for the tracks is in the build log if you want to steal itWow Tim, just playing ketchup and see you're done...This 'Beastie' has turned out very fine Sir!!! I can agree it looks a little plain as it was a prototype, but the color finish is most excellent. I especially like the finish on the tracks. Very realistic. I still have to paint mine though. A figure would definitely set it off as you said. Top job!!!....

Glad you like her Rob. Thanks for the kind comment ref the paint. Trouble is, she was only two weeks old at the time of the trials, so she really shouldn’t look that carewornYummity scrummity Tim, paint looks like a heavy duty work horse should me thinks! ⚒️
I’d agree on both counts Jakko. It really does have that “back of a fag packet” design air doesn’t it….Very nice model, I like it It manages to look both cartoonish and underarmed, somehow …
