Being my first GB,I will make it a small diorama. Picked a 1/35th Tamiya Kettenkraftrad off E-Bay a few days ago. I was going to use it for another project I had planned but I think this will be better used on the GB.

Will be adding a little more detailing to the kit as I build it.

I love the 'Trad', it has to be the weirdest concept bike ever. Always adds interest to a dio so this should be a good one Tony.

I may change the cover to a material one and have it loose over the trailer. Tony

What a great looking, little kit. From the box art I would think it's quite an old kit but the moulding is really crisp. If you wanted to detail it a little you could always add the odd cable etc. Add that to your fabric cover and I think this will end up a smashing little subject.

All the best for the build.

Paul

Ps. I've got some more pics of the Kettenkrad I took at The War and Peace show as it chugged along through the sea of mud carrying 3 reinactment Germans! I have them if you want them but I'll wait to see what the decision is on a 'reference thread'.

That's looking great. I once owned a Tamiya 1/35 kit without the trailer but alas it disapeared before I could make it.

Saw one at the 'Tank Fest' at Bovi the other year, it did a few circuits of the arena with the Tiger and Panzer III. Though the driver took it very carefully as it looked a bit unsteady.

Cheers

One way of painting tyres is to spray the whole wheel in the paint colour then, using a compass cutter, cut disks of masking tape the size of the inner wheel and rim, apply one each side then spray the tyre colour. I did this once, but I mainly stick the painted wheel on a cocktail stick and hand paint it.
