At the same time of the "second part" of the Colombo Express project (the container job!) I decided to start the USS Burton Island (Revell)

First step, cut the plastic railings. I will install a new ones, I don't know how, but maybe with evergreen.

I know that Gold Model Metals (USA shop) sell a photo-etched set for this kit. But anyone knows if I can buy this PE in Europe?

Thanks,

When I did my Burton Island diorama on here I too removed those awful moulded railings. I used N gauge plastic fencing as a replacement. You will also need scale safety mesh behind the railings.

There are well documented mistakes with this kit, but as I just build for fun, I couldn't have cared less............and it does make up into a very nice model.
