What's happening with the GBs

OK guys, as you may remember I asked for people to send in ideas for the group build for 2011 and many thanks to those who have suggested some.

Have to say, there are some really interesting and diverse ideas floating around!!!

The idea is that I will pick out the most popular ideas sent in and set up a vote so that we eventually will end up with four subjects for each of the three month GB through the whole year. That way, everyone will know what is coming up and, if they wish to enter, can forward plan what they want to do.

The subjects for voting will be announced at the end of this month (November) I can see no point in starting a full GB with Christmas and New year coming up so the first new GB will start in January.

However, because of the wonderful support for the 1:72 Battle Of Britain just for fun "Not a Group Build, Group Build" I though I would push my luck and see if anyone fancied a go at another fun build. This will be announced in a separate post.

Still time to PM me with ideas if you have any, even if you have already sent some in, if you have though of something else, let me know.

I was thinking of running a car/bike SIG alongside the four GB, not everyones cup of tea but there are enough of us to have a SIG for it.

As for a 1:144, maybe a special at sometime on that one to.

Sorry Richard, and anyone else, a SIG is a Special Interest Group build. Not too much different from a group build but tends to be specific and with a more specialised following. So if we do a Motorcycle SIG, it could be for a none Japanese Racing bike (anything that fits the bill) or a Honda Racing bike, more specific or a specific build like Aston Martin DB6 where everyone builds the same car, maybe even the same kit.

As I said, not much different to a GB (Group Build) just possibly more specific to a smaller group.
