Looking for a nice sky blue for the underside of my Spitfire but the colours recommended all apear green, pale green but still green. What do people generally use for the underside ?

The general underside colour of early war Spitfires was 'Sky Type S' - which was a pale blue/ green - it's a colour which is widely available, from most makers.

The underside of British planes in Europe for most of the Second World War was a colour called Sky¹ which is a pale green, not blue. If you want blue undersides, build your Spitfire in desert colours :smiling3:

¹ Not “Sky Type ‘S’” — that addition means “Smooth”, in other words: it’s matt but without having a rough surface. The actual colour name was just “Sky”.

It’s curious how the boffins decided that pale green was a good camouflage for the sky. They knew what they were doing but maybe from the ground it blends in with the sky better
