Hi folks,

This will be my first armor diorama. I have to prepare for a major school examination next year so I won't be building many more models.

So that gives me a reason to share this diorama with you! ;)

Basically it will be a Marder (not bought yet) with the commander writing home. Originally the commander is in a standing position but I will use putty to manipulate the figure.

Really looking forward to this cos it will have lots

...

and

...

lots of

...

SNOW!

Some work so far.

Planning and preparation is the key to a good diorama and you've got all that in place. Also a very clear picture of what you want it to look like when it's finished and you've got that covered as well.

This has all the making of an excellent diorama and I'm looking forward to seeing it progress.

Same here. Make sure you have a rigid base to stick the cardboard to or it may cause problems with cracking of the ground material that you stick to it if it flexes. Nice idea and tells a good story.

Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated. I originally thought I could squeeze this in for the GB, but because of time I couldn't.

Here are some more pics. A small staircase and a nice little tree (with no leaves) were added.

Adrian

(sorry pic heavy!)

Great photos of the build as well. I remember on here a year or two ago someone did a diorama of a Tiger sat in a stream. That was a really good build as well and I thoroughly enjoyed watching that go together. If I had time I'd try to find it again.

Great build thread, thanks for taking the time.
