Or mid morning, running late with domestic duties to be cleared before work!

Sat watching a spinning dial as my systems try to log on!

Going to be a slow day, good job I have some figures to scribe!

Lovely work on the reds.

Your palette for today sounds exciting, shame the light isn't that good and the weather is appalling!

Have fun with the blues and white

Regards

Steve H - Hope you've got through the spinning dial stage - what a pain, though at least it gives your time for a little modelling.

Stevie J - Thanks for looking in.

On to the torso:

Quite a slog, especially with the white. The camera has bleached out some of the shading, but basically, the only pure white is on the shoulders and top of the chest - the rest is done in various greys. I hate big empty areas like where the back-pack will fit - always looks a mess until everything is in place.

Hi Jason - It had obviously been made with plaited wire, as Neal has done with his grenadier. Great detail and nice to paint.

Another master class in drapery, Well done

Great palette too, so patriotic, Red, White & Blue, but the wrong side of the channel LOL

Just the accessories left, but still quite a few bits left?

Looks like a real pea souper up t'North

I have another 4 hours of screen watching today, with a little scribing to fill the time!

Have a good day with the bits

Jim - I must admit that it is nice to work with a bit of colour now and again.

Steve B - Thank you.

Lee - Thanks also. Way too much praise.

Steve H - Still the back-pack, cartridge box, sword and bayonet and hand/musket combination to do. As I'm suffering horrendous hayfever at the moment, I reckon another 2-3 days work in shorter sessions. The sun is shining here, pollen is filling the air (maize and hay-cutting in the local fields), and the temperature is on the up. Enjoy today's screen-watching session.

Cor, that looks marvelous!. Fantastic shading techniques too, if only I could shade as well as that. Well done, must have taken hours and hours of work.

Hi Matt -Glad you like him so far. This is quite a labour-intensive paint job, to say the least.

Getting on with the accessories, the bits seem to take all the time, more than the main event!

The carpet monster crept up and stole your tassels!

Have fun making more!

All that wood on the rifle should be a interesting day

I get a day off from sitting LOL

Another grey day, its truly a return of the summer!

Morning Steve

The musket will take a while, simply because it's so big. I'm going to try and keep the wood grain fairly subtle as examples on the internet show very little, just a dark lustrous finish. I mad a new tassel last night, though I know the kit one will turn up eventually.

Enjoy the day off from computer watching. We've had fairly high temperatures and sun here, though an almighty thunderstorm last evening. A sunny start today though.
