After a little fight towards the end I've managed to finish this very nice Tamiya kit.


I tried a few different things as I went, you'll see from my build thread I did the non slip texture, I also had a go at oil washes for the first time.


I think I learnt a lot form this build in anticipation of building the Meng M3A3 Bradley shortly.


The pictures aren't great but once I sort out better lighting source I'll re-do them. Also in one of the pictures the one figures arm is in mid air where it slipped when rotating the model

I primed the model with Vallejo Desert Tan 74.613 and then used Vallejo Sand Yellow 71.028, I know there are some that can't say enough good things about Vallejo but I'm not that over awed with it, I'm not keen on waiting so long before I can rub down any work, attempt to do this inside a day and it will all just peel off. The biggest advantage with the range is the colour choice. Again just my own thoughts

Very nice Adrian.


Drying time. That is a disadvantage with any water based acrylic. I normally put on in thin coats which I have found helps the cure time. I try like very hard to make sure I do not have anything to sand. I have used an H & S air blower on the last two projects and solved the bits of hair fluff annoyance. Not had one since using the blower.
