Brian's 1/200 HMS Nelson Build

Just had a catch up Brian. This is coming along superbly. As to the small stuff, it’s the combined effect of all the detail parts that really lift a model like this. Tedious at the time, but well worth it when they’re done.

VERY well said Tim as thats what i think also but thanfully my small parts on my tiger are big enough to fit them without bein tediuos

Did a bit this morning, should be finished the build tomorrow, then just a bit of paint, touching up and weathering.



Going to have to go over the manual from the start I probably missed loads and of course the dreaded railings

YES Bob bri has done an excellent build but so can you so dont put yourself down as you are a very good moddller boyo so lets see you back on here when you feel better

Well guy's she is finished, weathered the deck and some of the machinery decided I'm not very good at it so I'm going to leave as is so I don't screw it up.
Decided not to spend 25 quid on a book I'll look at only once so if I do any rigging It will be an educated guess.
Oh yes just got to do the last half of the stbd side railings.

Looks fabulous Brian. Needs rigging now . Perhaps a way forward is to look at as many photos as you can and make your own sketches to work from.

As to the weathering, can be daunting, but is worthwhile unless you really like the factory fresh look.

I’d suggest working on something smaller and cheaper to start with. I’d also suggest working with slow drying or reversible materials like oil paint, enamels, or pastel chalks in the first instance. That way you can usually get them off and start again without having to repaint the whole model.

Excellent job Brian, looks great rigging you can just add what looks good to you. I agree with Tim on the weathering,it can really add to the finished model, a cheapy practice mule is a good shout and as a suggestion the hobbyboss 1/350 pola is under 15 quid,perfect for the job.
