Thanks to all for your encouraging comments on the latest work on my model.

Yes indeedy Jim, it's nice to be back.
Just spent an enjoyable 10 days or so in the motor home, far from the madding crowd, recharging the batteries after the 'Joys' of Christmas!

Cheers.

Good to see you back in harness after the lunacy that passes for Xmas these days!

So. Batteries fully charged, can we expect to see more of this marvellous stuff soon?

PS You clearly don't need any assistance with pyromaniacin' - you got that down to a 'T'! Next time I consider burnin' down next door - and forcin' them to move and take their noisy offspring with 'em - you'll be the one I contact as I reckon you could do it without risk to my house!

Thanks chaps.... :thumb2:

Shop fronts fitted, windows part glazed using a clear plastic food container lid, then generally mucked up.

Smashed, mucked up glass and filthy ragged curtains made from a bit of tissue.

I can't go much further as I need to wreck me a bit of armour. Reason being, I want the tank to be in, rather than just plonked on, the rubble.

Thanks for looking.

:thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2: Spot on 570, those burnt joists look real.
Just showed one of the photos to Management and we both agreed it looks real.
Beautifully staged as well.Buildings are great.

Thanks ever so much for your excellent comments and observations, boys. (Not to mention 453's lady) All very much appreciated.

John. you know how the foam board can be extremely 'melty'? It very nearly got the better of me and threatened to reduce the whole thing to a molten ball of nowt. Luckily, a quick dose of beer from an open can soon sorted it out.... :face-with-head-bandage::thumb2:

Thanks again folks.

Just wondering 570, JR was so proud of your burnt timbers, I'm wondering if he had a hand in this imaginary conflagration?

...453 was there in spirit Rick. Pardon the pun!

Now the Tiger in my Kelly's Heroes is no longer required, I will use it as the wrecked tank for this model.

Here it is in it's original 'Spare Tank' form.
P1250169.JPG

Re-painted and wrecked.
P1250187.JPG

Hacked about, snapped off and bent with a pair of pliers and the two hits done with a hot screwdriver. Straight through with one and just touched the plastic with the other.

I've tried for a two shot wreck. The lower hit was an H.E. shell which didn't penetrate, but wrecked the running gear and tracks.
The upper, armour piercing one did and caused massive internal damage.

Early days yet, but I've laid the foundations.

Cheers all.

Ron,
Looks just like the real thing, and to be critical, your best yet.
Even the bricks line up on the corner, something manufacturers forget.

Steven, Mike and Andrew. Thank you for your positive comments. Such posts as yours keep me going.... :thumb2:

I've made a start on the rubble. Just tipped onto the base from a dizzy height to land and heap up where it chooses. Also, I tried a 'Loose fit' with the tank. I've purposely sunk one side in a bit to make the pose a bit more interesting.

Early days, but I'm finally getting some more ideas and inspiration :upside: as to how I would like the model to look on completion.

Cheers.
