Well, that'll do for today:

The rearmost part of the canopy looks a bit too wide, but the one at Duxford is about the same.
I'm not in a masking mood tonight, maybe tomorrow. Last time I built one of these I think I used pre-cut masks, but I was too mean to order any this time around.

The masking mojo made a brief visit today, so I got the canopy masked - sorry, lost the photo - and splashed some Vallejo RLM65 on the underside:IMG_20230509_183903398.jpg
I'll let that dry overnight and mask up tomorrow so I can start the topside with a coat of RLM79 Sandgelb.

Aargh! Started masking the underside, had to reposition a piece of masking tape, and this happened:

I'm not having any success with paint recently, it must be something I'm doing wrong, but what? This was Vallejo Model Air, no primer. The only thing I can think of is that I'm laying the paint down too thick, but I thought I'd given it plenty of time between coats - about a half hour.

Sorry to see that Pete. I'm no expert, but I usually let the 1st coat of Model Air dry for an hour or a bit more before shooting the second . I let that dry for a few hours before try to do anything to or with it. Could it have been the masking tape was a bit too sticky, like on my build???.......Should be an easy fix though...

The spinner is supposed to be yellow at the tip with RLM70 spots! I'm not sure how (if) I'll do that.

OK, re-masked and sprayed the RLM70.IMG_20230525_203113206.jpg
Also sprayed the spinner;

Not sure how well that looks. I might just overpaint it in RLM70.
Also painted the prop, smaller bombs, and the big bomb:

Sorry, I lost the photo of the prop, but you can just see part of it peeking out from under the starboard wing in the first pic. Should have the masking off tomorrow so I can see how much paint crept under it!

I'm enjoying this Pete.
Haven't built a Stuka since my teens and I do have the Revell 1/32 one in my stash.
But the mean time this is scratching the itch, thanks
