Going well with the jacket, the shading on the face looks like a natural shadow from the lighting which is what you must be aiming for?

So good it doesn't look painted, nice work.

Looks like England and Wales will be getting a named storm over the next 2 days, not much light for painting then!

Have a good day with the trousers

We all look better in trousers Andrew. Thanks for looking in.
Indeed although a female colleague did once it's comment that I had nice legs....(I normally cycle to work as an FYI!)

Nice trousers, denim material possibly?

I had never thought the ""Work" kit was blue as you rarely see colour photos.

Many of the black and white photos show a very pale almost white work kit, so blue is a bright alternative, nice work too.

I will always remember the original dwarf Tamiya tank crew and the pale sky blue uniform, very Hermann Goering in colour!

Looks like Storm Christoph wont stop you finishing this one today.

Hopefully enough light to get done

Have a good day with the paint

Regards

Andy - I'm sure your legs are lovely. A female housemate used to say I had legs like a girl's - she meant it as a compliment.

John - I'm somewhere between the two. Dungarees seems to be the 'in' thing this season. My offspring are all wearing them.

Steve - More of a poplin, like this repro example:

I've exaggerated the colour slightly for 'artistic' reasons. Peiper was a bit of a dandy and wore kit from different arms of service (re the Kriegsmarine jacket) so I've tried to have fun with that. He could also have easily have some trousers made up out of blue material by the regimental tailor. Should get this done today.

Glad you like what I've done so far Chris. Peiper was a nasty piece of work, and many who met him on a dark night or in broad daylight did so at the supreme cost. One of life's 'only following orders' merchants.

One Joachim Peiper:

The last session involved painting the hands, holster, binoculars and gloves. I couldn't get a decent finish on the kit binoculars, so I swapped them for a pair from the spares box. I've also spent some time softening the tones on the face.

Lovely finish with the accessories and leatherwork.

Always looking top notch with your accessory painting.

Great finish for a notorious character.

Looks like we might get some little snow showers later, as it has really dropped in temperature this morning, 1C B'rrr again!

What next, bust or figure?

Have fun with your next victim

Andrew - Many thanks.

John - Thanks also.

Steve - Pleased that you like him. I really enjoyed this one, so I'll probably go for another figure next. A very stormy night, but much calmer this morning.

Very nice Peter. The blue trousers really set him off. The map and gloves are the perfect finishing touch.
