Morning all,
John and Joe, thanks guys, indeed all that sanding and filling helps the look after painting, still on a learning curve though .
Seems it has been almost two months since the last post from me… been slow progress in the painting department on this one.
Priming and pre-shade was pretty fast but applying the colours, masking and giving it extra dry time didn’t help the schedule too:
Doing a splinter and mottle scheme requires a lot of masking and takes a lot of time, it’s still worth the effort.
Paints were VJ Black for the pre-shade, VJ Grey primer and VJ 71.257, 71.258 and 71.259 for the RLM 76, 74 and 75.
Although the top-side pre-shade is gone through the various paint layers, the bottom one survived, maybe a post-shade will look fine in the end.
Something to contemplate after the regular weathering routine.
Now it’s off to pack for my entry in the Dam to Dam running event this afternoon, the first ones have made the finish at this time of writing but with over 46,000 the starting times are in blocks and I’m in an afternoon one.
Thanks for looking in.
Fernando
