Chris and Tim, you win.
I was going to leave it as a 'cliffhanger' to try and keep the build in sequence, but I'll post it now.

No real drama, but referring back to the modification earlier, I didn't realise the two gun positions also needed to be brought forward to the hull edge and I was hoping to 'Forget' the fact, but they kept looking at me......

So after me painting the thing, thinking it was finished, I had to do more butchering.......

Here's the Mk.1

The Mk.2.
No more, I tell you!

The original attempt.

Second, and final go. Not a great deal of difference, but enough to be annoyingly nagging if left.
P1300597.JPG

I know it's not accurate but it is near enough for me.
Now I can finally move on to the superstructure. Where I know a ruck more similar work awaits me..:cold-sweat:

I hope you two fine chaps approve of the mod? Rest easy!

Ron

Thanks chaps. I'm chuffed you all approve of the Mk.2.

Quite right Tim, it would have got on my wick, and got worse, every time I looked at 'It'

Thanks Jim.
Good to see you are still hanging on in.

The Main Mast.
Like the kit in general, a very basic affair which needed much work. Too short, no detail etc. These things I had read and expected. Which is why I bought the kit dirt cheap in the first place. :thumb2:
Here is the kit version. stuck with blue tac (other similar sticky substances are available)

Here's my effort at tarting it up a bit. Very awkward to do, but I'm glad I had a crack at it.....

Luckily, I have the large card model of Hood, which I have a play with now and then, so I am able to reference the missing bits.
Not spot on, but near enough for little old me......

The various 'Stations' made from plastic card and a bit of drinking straw.
Just a light filing and sanding then it will get a coat of paint.

This was probably the last of the difficult major add-on's. We'll see as work progresses if this is the case - For the sake of my eyesight and sanity, I sincerely hope so.....

Cheers.

Love the corrections - but 'good luck' if that's the last detailing you'll consider necessary :tears-of-joy: ! (I may be tempted to offer odds ... )

Great 'Crack' boys. Much appreciated, it helps no end!

I added a couple of support brackets to the main mast and now it's painted and finished. I think...

Before...

After...

The two chimblies next. One is not so bad, but there should be at least some detail around both at boat deck level.

Here's the first to try and sort.

Cheers and thanks for the support thus far. :thumb2:
