So I now have all the front end bodywork fitted and windows in which were a bit tricky from the inside but for me still better than masking, Matt coat done. So now it's just the little details, headlamps, wipers , mirrors and the winch cable for crane/boom whatever you want to call it! Then a final bit of weathering and done I think. Was going to do the black camouflage but totally forgot !! Loved building this once I got back on it, think there might be an artillery tractor parked next to it sometime in the future :smiling: 20220121_204618.jpg

The Leyland Martain was another truck we had in Germany. The Scammel was a beast alright, pull a 434 tracked with out even knowing you were towing it.

View attachment 433022 12 Speed box, low, intermediate and high. The crane was suburb .Much warmer in the winter as it had a heater !
John, we had one of these in Germany when I was there. We also had two AEC wreckers.

Thank you Ian :thumb2: yes it's a nice kit, recommend if you like this sort of thing.
I do actually have a soft spot for all the Scammel trucks and would love to get hold of the Tank Transporter!

All we need is for a manufacturer to bring out some British Heavy artillery for it to drag around.

Have used brass rod for the winch cable as the supplied option was pretty much fishing line, didn't look right, the rods not perfect but better. 20220124_230513.jpgJust the mirrors, wipers and spare wheel to go on and done, should be in completed section tomorrow :smiling: (if I can take some decent pictures!)20220124_223440.jpg20220124_225055.jpg
